Scott Wells
Associate Pastor and Worship Leader
I grew up in Shamrock, Texas; a prospering metropolis of about 3,000 people! I am thankful to have grown up in a small town, and I still like the small town and that nurturing environment. After beginning with a major in architecture at Texas Tech University, following the Lord’s leading in a call to ministry, I changed majors to Music Education and finished my degree in that. After serving in three churches in Texas as Minister of Music and Youth, we moved to Richland Baptist in 1990, and became the Minister of Music and Youth here. My title is now Associate Pastor and Worship Leader. I am responsible for planning and facilitating the worship services, and the worship-leading groups, as well as doing whatever else the senior pastor says!
Renae and I were married for 41 years, and she moved to heaven in 2022. She was a life-long friend with us growing up together in the same town. We have three grown children and seven grandchildren, all of which we are very thankful for. When I’m not in church, I enjoy camping in our great Northwest, and spending time with our kids and grandkids. I enjoy backpacking in some of our wilderness areas and fishing whenever I have the chance.
