Preschool

Sunday Preschool

"And Jesus grew in stature, strength; and in wisdom; He grew in favor with God and men." Luke 2:40.

We believe it is important that children grow as Jesus did; Physically, Mentally, Socially and Spiritually. All of our classes and activities for preschoolers are designed for your child to develop in all of these areas through a variety of hands-on activities. Some of these activities include Arts & Crafts, Puzzles, Building Blocks, Home Living, Music & Movement, and Nature. We believe learning starts at birth and the first years are very important. Even babies have songs sung to them and Bible stories read to them. Children are encouraged to explore God's world with age appropriate activities and adult guidance.

For information regarding the Richland Baptist Church Preschool Department contact Janelle Marsh or call the church office at 509-943-9177

RBC also sponsors Jesus Loves Me Preschool on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Information is also available in the office.

Sunday Mornings

Babies through three year olds are able to enjoy their Sunday School class for the entire morning. Children can go to either the 8:30 a.m. session or the 11:00 a.m. session or stay for the entire morning in one class while mom and dad enjoy the Worship Service and Sunday School.

Children four years old through Kindergarten are encouraged to go to the worship service with their parents or guardians. About halfway through the morning worship service, four year olds through 3rd graders may go to Children's Worship. They sing, have a Bible Story, and do various related activities while the worship service for adults continues. After Children's Church or Worship children are encouraged to attend a Sunday School class for their age group.

Sunday Evenings

Child care is available for babies through three years old during Discipleship Training (4:30 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.) and continues through the Evening Worship Service (6:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.). We encourage parents and guardians to start taking their children to the Evening Service at the age of three and to use the year between three and four to get the child ready to sit in church. The church nursery is available for children who can not make it through the entire service. The church family understands that this is a training time for your child and we will work with you.

Wednesday Evenings

Starting at 5:30 p.m. children as young as three years old (potty trained) can participate in Mission Friends. Preschoolers learn a Bible story through hands-on play and also learn of a missionary in another part of the country or world. Older Mission Friends start working on world geography with the globe.

At 6:30 p.m. children three years old through Kindergarten can participate in the Preschool Choir. Children learn not only songs but start to learn about music. They are taught note recognition and what each note means. The Preschool Choir also preforms a couple times throughout the year.

Childcare is also available for babies through three years old during Wednesday night activities.
