Richland Baptist Church

Local Missions & Evangelism

Local missions and evangelism takes place primarily in the Tri Cities area, although some work extends beyond this immediate area.  In addition, the church is a member and supporter of the Columbia Baptist Basin Association (a part of the Southern Baptist Convention) that focuses on evangelism in southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon. Beyond these areas the church supports missions through the North American Mission Board.

Some of the local work of the church includes the following:

Bible Clubs

Some members of the church aid in teaching children off-campus about the Christian faith.

Block Party

Most years Richland Baptist Church holds a block party for the residents of the neighborhood adjoining the church. The party is held outside, on church property, and it provides free food and games for our neighbors.

The Emmaus Center

The Emmaus Center provides an outreach into the community that brings together Christian truth and psychological understanding.

F.A.I.T.H. Outreach

The F.A.I.T.H. visitation program and witnessing training reaches out to the community to address spiritual needs. More information is available at F.A.I.T.H.

Ignite Youth Mentoring

Ignite Youth Mentoring connects mentors with kids who are lacking positive adult role models!  Mentors are needed in large number, but IYM also has other ways you can plug in and make a real difference.

Prison Ministry

Over the years several members have visited prisons in nearby cities to minister to those who have been incarcerated.  These visits give the opportunity for Bible study and encouragement.

Tour Your Final Destination

Tour Your Final Destination is a dramatic walk-through presentation about the truth of people's choices and their consequences both in this life and the next.  This presentation is given at the church in October of most years.

Tri-Cities Pregnancy Network

The church supports efforts of the Tri-Cities Pregnancy Network, which provides counseling on crisis pregnancy issues. Some of our church members work directly for this network as volunteers.

Tri-City Union Gospel Mission

The church participates in the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission located in Pasco through fund raising and assisting in church services for both the men and women at the mission.

Vacation Bible School

The yearly week-long ministry of Vacation Bible School (VBS) at the church provides opportunities for children and youth to grow in the knowledge of the Lord.  VBS is to open to the community and usually occurs in late July or early August.

Vacation Bible School at Colville Indian Reservation

The Youth group has conducted Vacation Bible School on the Colville Indian Reservation north of Spokane in recent years.  This VBS usually occurs in June.
